Low Country Highlander
Low Country Highlander is a singleton constructed format.
- The current Vintage banned list is in effect, along with present day rules.
- Decks are 60 cards at minimum, with a 15 card sideboard.
- Only one copy of each card is permitted in a deck, with the exception of basic lands.
Points List (Maximum 13)
Low Country Highlander is built on a full rack of 13 ribs. Various card costs are measured in ribs.
Cards are pointed on a few primary criteria.
- Drawin': These cards draw an amount of cards way too efficiently for their mana cost. Ancestral Recall, Treasure Cruise and even pseudo-draw spells like Dig Through Time qualify for this. Even Yawgmoth’s Will is in this boat, in a sense it draws your whole graveyard for 2B.
- Rampin': These cards provide mana acceleration for free or an absurdly low cost. Black Lotus is the poster child for this. Moxes, Mana Crypt and Ancient Tomb fit the bill.
- Comboin': These cards when combined with typically only 1 other card just win the game barring some strange board state. Time Vault is the king of fuck mountain here, and produces miserable end games. Thassa’s Oracle, Karn Null Rod are muted examples of two card combo game winners.
- Borin': These cards are so efficient, so much better than 95% of their comparables that if a deck is in their respective colors, and making Dominaria shaking decisions like “I Will Play Creatures” they are automatically included. Examples of this are Ponder, Umezawa’s Jitte, Deathrite Shaman, Skill-Ape Nemesis, Snapcaster Mage, Oko Queef of Clowns, Strip Mine, Wasteland and even Sylvan Library which is also Drawin’.
- Tutorin': These cards search for other stupid cards. In a format of only Goblin Pikers tutors would be worthless, but alas not the case. Universally Demonic Tutor is seen as the gold standard, with Vampiric, Mystical, Imperial Seal and others following down the line. Cards like Tinker, Oath of Druids, Survival of the Fittest and Entomb are effectively tutors as well.

No Sauce Option
Players may opt for the "No Sauce Option" by constructing their deck with no pointed cards. The No Sauce Option entitles a player to THREE of the following sides (no doubling up), to be chosen as they present their deck for each game.
- Coleslaw: Draw an extra card in your opening hand after the resolution of mulligans.
- Baked Beans: Start the game with 30 life.
- Collards: Before the game starts you may reveal one card from your opening hand and swap it with a Basic Land from your library. Shuffle your library.
- Mac 'n Cheese: Once per game when a game action allows you to search your library for a card you may instead search your sideboard for a card that otherwise fulfills the search criteria.
- Potato Salad: Before the game starts put a 1/1 creature token with one creature type and a color of your choice onto the battlefield.
- Corn: Before the game starts you may mill the top 6 cards of your or your opponent's library.
